You'll dive into meaningful projects and tasks that sharpen your skills and deepen your knowledge. Along the way, you'll benefit from professional development opportunities, community events, and connections that make your experience well-rounded and enriching.
Your time with us will culminate in an opportunity to showcase your contributions and learnings to Shark Ninja leaders because this is a program for those ready to shape what's next - fast.
This role:
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, Wearable and Biomedical Devices at Shark Ninja, you will work alongside a world-class group of engineers working on wearable, biosensing, and medical device technologies within our Shark skincare space.
This role offers hands-on experience across the full product lifecycle, including prototyping, testing, data analysis, and refinement of devices that integrate sensors, embedded hardware, and user-centered design. You will contribute to the development of systems that measure and interpret physiological signals such as ECG, PPG, EMG, temperature, motion, and impedance, applying core concepts in biomechanics, signal processing, and control systems. This role provides hands-on exposure across the full product lifecycle, from early concept development and prototyping through testing, refinement, and validation.
You will support the design and evaluation of sensor-enabled systems, contribute to data-driven engineering decisions, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver solutions that balance performance, usability, and reliability. If you are motivated by applying engineering fundamentals to real-world health and wellness challenges and want to help shape the future of how people interact with technology on and around the body, this could be your next role.
Here are some of the EXCITING things you'll get to do:
* Support research, ideation, and exploration of wearable and biomedical product opportunities within the Shark skincare space (like Shark Cryo Glow)
* Contribute to early concept development by supporting research, ideation, and exploration of new wearable and biomedical product opportunities
* Apply knowledge of biomechanics, signal processing, or control systems to real-world engineering challenges
* Support the collection, interpretation, and analysis of physiological and system-level data to inform design and performance decisions
* Work with sensor-enabled systems and data acquisition platforms to help evaluate functionality and user experience
* Use MATLAB and or Python to analyze data, visualize trends, and support the development of analytical tools and models
* Participate in design discussions and technical reviews, considering principles of safety, usability, and reliability throughout development
* Gain exposure to materials and components intended for skin-contact and body-worn applications, with an emphasis on user comfort and performance
* Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, designers, and product partners to align technical insights with user needs
* Develop an understanding of the user journey and the role of data-driven design in creating intuitive, trustworthy health-focused products
