Summary:
This position will report to the Sr Director - Engineer as a part of the Gulf Coast Ops Engineering team within the Terminal Services organization. Primary focus is to provide Process Engineering and Optimization support to the Nederland and Spindletop Facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Process Engineering support for the Nederland Export Terminal and Spindletop Storage Facility located near Nederland, TX. Core functions include process optimization, troubleshooting, compliance, Cap Maint project execution and Cap Growth project growth.
  • Process Optimization:
    Revenue Generation (capacity increases, product uplift, increased runtime);
    Expense Reduction (utilities, maintenance, consumables).
  • Process Troubleshooting:
    Operations support as primary resource for operations; lead RCFA investigations and implement solutions with lessons learned.
  • Compliance Support: PSM (PHA prep and engineering SME, action items, PSI upkeep) and Environmental (emissions quantification and compliance support).
  • Cap Maint Project Execution:
    Support annual project budget cycle (scoping and estimating); project execution (assign PMs and executive projects).
  • Cap Growth Project Growth:
    Pre-FID concept reviews and optimization opportunities;
    Post-FID design reviews, PHA, commissioning and start-up support.
  • Maintain facility process simulations and work with other process engineers to develop process solutions while following engineering standards, code compliance, and safety practices.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to broaden and deepen process engineering and project management knowledge and proficiencies.
Requirements

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor s degree in an engineering discipline (preferably Chemical, Mechanical, or Natural Gas) and 3-6 years of relevant work experience
  • Highly motivated with a consistent drive for growth and development
  • Solution oriented mindset and ability to apply critical thinking
  • Organized and able to effectively prioritize tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority
  • Team player with willingness to assist outside of own discipline
  • Proficiency utilizing Engineering Process Simulation Programs (Pro Max, Hysys, etc.)
  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications
Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the requirements listed above, we value candidates with any of the following qualifications:

  • Experience with NGL/LPG facilities
    • Knowledge of Treating and Dehydration fundamentals, operation and maintenance
    • Knowledge of Refrigeration fundamentals, operation and maintenance
    • Knowledge of Refrigerated Storage fundamentals, operation and maintenance
    • Knowledge of Boil-Off Gas fundamentals, operation and maintenance
  • Experience with PSM facilities and PHA/LOPA processes
  • Operations, Maintenance or Technical Operations experience in the Midstream industry
  • Master s Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, etc)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Engineering Level and Working Conditions

Engineering Job Level: Will be commensurate with relevant experience.

Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Required to live within 45 minutes of the reporting location.
  • Normal office working conditions and field work.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and requires appropriate personal protective equipment.
