Stock Water Maintenance Technician

Summary:

Rex Ranch is seeking a highly effective Stock Water Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable water systems across the ranch. This position plays a crucial role in supporting livestock operations by keeping water infrastructure in excellent working condition.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair windmills, including checking oil, replacing leather components, and repairing motors and other parts.
• Install and service permanent solar pumping systems, including solar pumps, panels, control boxes, and related components.
• Install and maintain stock tanks, including cleaning, re-lining plastic-bottom tanks, and performing general upkeep.
• Maintain and repair pipelines by fixing leaks, replacing valves and floats, and performing other general maintenance tasks.
• Perform general housing repairs, including plumbing, electrical, and structural maintenance.
• Complete routine upkeep such as painting, minor carpentry, and appliance repairs to ensure safe and functional living conditions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment across all facilities.
• Assist with resource planning and provide recommendations for maintenance improvements.
• Build positive relationships and communicate effectively with coworkers and ranch personnel while representing Rex Ranch professionally at all times.

Qualifications:

• Valid in-state driver's license and high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Technical training or certifications in plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in water systems maintenance, ranch operations, or a related field.
• Proficient in installing, repairing, and maintaining windmills, solar pumping systems, pipelines, and stock tanks.
• Able to perform general housing maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, painting, and minor carpentry.
• Skilled in operating hand tools, power tools, and light equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work an average 45-hour week and 9-hour workday, which can vary frequently and include weekends and holidays to accommodate business needs.
