Job Purpose &Position Overview Specific
Job Duties /Responsibilities
- Demonstrate the WCHS core mission, vision and values ; respecting tribal beliefs, culture, and traditions
- Formulate clinical decisions that demonstrate critical thinking to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the patient through collaborative practice with the healthcare team.
- Completes comprehensive initial assessment and completes documentation accurately and completely in the patient record.
- Demonstrates expertise in systems assessment, recognition of significant changes in patient condition, establishment of priorities, and nursing interventions.
- Provides interventions as ordered by the Medical Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant
- Evaluates patient response to intervention and promptly notifies Medical Provider of patient condition whenever necessary.
- Promotes the team concept through interpersonal relationships with patients, families, and medical staff and/or other healthcare providers to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
- Demonstrates respect for patients’ rights, privacy, and serve as a patient advocate.
- Comply with all departmental and organizational policies and procedures in addition to regulatory requirements and participate in corporate/department safety and quality activities.
- At the direction of the provider provides patient and family education to ensure adequate knowledge/awareness and recommends appropriate community resources as needed .
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Nebraska or multi state licensure in a nurse licensure compact state .
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred .
- Skilled in practical use of electronic systems for patient care and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of service and response.
- Comply with all departmental and organizational policies and procedures in addition to regulatory requirements and participate in corporate/department safety and quality activities
- Reading, writing, calculating
- Reasoning/Analysis
- Works with minimal to no supervision
- Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
