Responsibilities- Shift Details: 7:00am - 7:00pm or 7:00pm - 7:00am | Every Third Weekend | Two Holidays per Year
- Department:
Med Surg, ER, OB - Job Summary:
Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to all patients as directed by medical staff and in compliance with hospital policies. Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the work and efforts of all personnel assigned to their area. Relates and communicates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care. Maintains satisfactory relationships and positive communication with other departments. Participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records and upgrading policy, procedures and skills. - Supervision and Coordination:
Directly supervise nursing activities, ensuring smooth operations and quality patient care within your assigned area. Maintains quality patient care; exhibits compliance with physician orders and hospital policies. - Clinical Expertise and Communication:
Provide direct patient care including administering medications (oral, intramuscular, intravenous, and/or subcutaneous). Assess patient needs through interactions with patients and families. Formulate and document care plans, involving the medical team. Effective communication with colleagues and patients is key. - Confidentiality and Compliance:
Maintain patient confidentiality. Administer medications, adhere to policies, keep accurate electronic medical records. Promptness, efficiency, and knowledge of necessary equipment. - Continuous Learning and Certification:
Participate in orientation, safety programs, and required certifications. Include CPR, ACLS, TNCC, PALS and NRP. Orients new employees.
- ASN and/or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
- Active RN license in Nebraska or active Paramedic license in Nebraska.
- Active CPR Certificate.
