The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. The LPN demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles, composes and administers medications, documents resident interactions, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team. The LPN recognizes problems, recommends solutions, and assists in emergent situations while maintaining confidentiality and promoting resident self‑care.

• Graduated from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Preferably holds an associate degree in practical nursing.
• Completed a pre‑licensure nursing program with supervised clinical experience across the lifespan (minimum 400 hours of LPN experience at another facility).
• Current, unencumbered LPN license with the State Nursing Board and/or multi‑state licensure privileges.
• Required IV therapy/management skills (North Dakota): graduation from a Board‑approved AASPN program incorporating IV therapy or completion of an approved IV Therapy course.
• Makes all required annual continuing education units (CEU) and maintains competency training.
