We serve the vulnerable through our blood donor recruitment programme, home and day activity centre for the disabled, elder aid, transport aid, family life aid, community health on wheels and community first aid. We build capacity and resilience through our training academy, and volunteer and youth development.

Beyond our shores, we mobilise and translate contributions from the donor community to relief and recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts, with the aim of helping communities affected by disasters.

Job Purpose

To assist and support the Resource Development (RD) department in planning, coordinating & executing fundraising events. To encourage current and potential supporters to organise fundraising events, and organise promotional and publicity initiatives. To work with individuals, communities and businesses to raise awareness of the charity's work. Ultimately, to increase the contributions of those individuals and groups by building relationships and exploring new fundraising techniques and ideas.

Principal

Accountabilities
  • Support fundraising activities - following up on each event from start to finish; and ensuring maximum publicity. Fundraising events include but are not limited to the Sustainable Christmas Market, Christmas Gift Wrapping, and 3rd party fundraising events.
  • Support fundraising and events team, including deployment of volunteers, liaise with internal and external stakeholders and communicate with donors, to ensure the smooth running and execution of the event. (May be asked to work weekends and after office hours, when necessary)
  • Identify new and potential supporters and encourage them to organise their own fundraising events to raise funds for the charity, whilst publicising these acts to inspire more fundraisers onboard.
  • Execute publicity initiatives that drive traffic.
  • Any other matters as assigned by Head, Resource Development.
Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Ability to work with Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, MS Office and other office related software.

  • Responsible and adaptable to different work environments
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to people at all levels
  • Outgoing and able to build and maintain strong relationships with donors and volunteers
