Summary:

This position is responsible for general setup, operation, optimization, changeover/troubleshoot and maintenance of assigned department equipment. Responsible for meeting/exceeding production standards, maintaining product quality, minimizing/preventing equipment downtime and sustaining budgeted waste levels every day.

Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Works with management to identify and eliminate safety hazards.
• Has detailed operational knowledge of the equipment to operate within specified quality/quantity limits.
• Set up, operate and troubleshoot equipment.
• Maintain equipment to produce product to meet BD’s Quality Standards.
• Repair equipment within the Associate’s capability and follow the department escalation plan.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment as specified in the plant PM program.
• Responsible for recording preventative maintenance, planned and breakdown activities in SAP.
• Must have mechanical ability and knowledge of proper use of tools, proper troubleshooting and setup procedures.
• Assist with radiation emergencies when and if they occur.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
• Work with limited supervision and perform duties in a prompt and professional manner.
• Attend training and meetings as required.
• General housekeeping and clean up of work area / safety awareness.
• Sustain a productive work environment through effective communication with team members.
• Obey all company policies, standards and rules, including safety and quality policies and rules.
• Must maintain regular, punctual attendance.

• High School diploma or equivalent, required
• Vocational/technical school, preferred
• Manufacturing experience, preferred

• Manufacturing experience preferred but not required
• Forklift – Must be able to obtain License within 3 months
• Yard Truck Operation – Must be able to operate within a 3-month period
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Radiation certification – Must be able to acquire in 12 months
• This job is contingent on clearing an FBI background check. Fingerprints will be provided to be sent to the FBI. The corporate security officer will determine acceptability.

• Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English
• Good interpersonal skills
• Computer skills (SAP, Excel, Word preferred) – Basic

• PCP Level 3:
  Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.

• High speed manufacturing environment. Must remain alert and focused.
• No air-conditioning in parts of sterilization/warehouse area.
• Radiation in close proximity.
• May have intermittent exposure to chemicals.
• Degree of exposure to dust, dirt, heat, fumes, noise, vibration and chemicals.
• Outdoor elements and indoor noise considerations depending on location.
• Safety glasses must be worn in the warehouse.
• Some physical exertion, including lifting, may be required.
• Safety toe shoes required.
