We are seeking a Special Handling Technician to perform industrial labor and other physically demanding work outdoors, under potentially adverse conditions, as well as within the facility/plant work environment. This is a great opportunity for college students or recent high school graduates wanting to gain work experience.
New wage: $29/hr with overtime, 4-12 hour rotating (days/nights) shifts per week (6a->6p / 6p->6a). Must be willing to work nights.

- Operates industrial equipment, included but not limited to forklift.
- Performs general labor throughout the facility to prepare materials for the incineration process.
- Ensures the safety of himself or herself and those around them.
- Performs manual tasks such as cleaning up spills when necessary while taking all safety precautions necessary to prevent injury.
- Handles hazardous waste including bulk sampling, drum decanting, liquid pumping, tanker cleaning, and confined space entry (CF Space).
- Uses full protective suits and equipment such as Super Suckers and Guzzlers; work is associated with elevated danger and high physical exertion—crews rotate in Ty‑Vac suits on 1‑hour in/1‑hour out shifts due to heat and workload.
- Handles bucket drops, rotary kiln operations, baghouse maintenance, and line cleaning.
- Handles sulfide materials with variable pH; operations occur in bays with tanker feeds directed to the Train 2 unit.
- Follows all standard operating procedures.
- Other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent – required.
- Forklift operation.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- DOT training.
- Proficiency in Windows‑based applications.
- Climb on and off forklifts.
- Perform multiple tasks.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs from the ground.
- Climb up and down vertical ladders.
- Capable of reaching out, over, and under while exerting a force.
- 20/20 eyesight (corrected or uncorrected) – depth perception is critical.
- 10 push‑ups, deep knee squats, and sit‑ups (to assess fitness).
- Good hand‑eye coordination.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Punctuality and attendance required.
- Respirator fit test upon hire – clean‑shaven face required (mustache acceptable).
- Background check, drug screen, and physical required.
