Laser/Brake Operator

Assemble or modify electrical or electronic equipment such as electrical panels, switch kits, motors, or hydraulic cylinders and test equipment e.g. telemetry systems, electric motors, and center drives. Demonstrate safe work practices in accordance with all compliance and regulatory requirements including Life Safety Elements.

• Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses.
• Accurately measure and precisely cut materials involved in the assigned work.
• Operate CNC machines to meet parts per hour requirements.
• Work at different workstations as production needs require.
• Learn to do simple setups, change punches and die sets, bits and saw blades.
• Maintain effective communication with supervisors and related departments.
• Collaborate with team members to accomplish the job.
• Maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts.
• Assist in accurate and timely inventory control management both physically and transactionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager to ensure safety, quality, and cost deliverables.

• Knowledge of metal cutting and punching processes and equipment.
• Good communication skills relative to supervisor and other related departments.
• Math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
• Ability to read tape measure, calipers and blueprints drawings.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Training in forklift operation a plus or willingness to be trained in this area.
• Training in Overhead Crane Operation or willingness to be trained in this area.
• Must be able and willing to program all CNC equipment.
• Must be able to communicate with supporting resources such as software support and equipment technicians.
• Must operate safety equipment/devices and help provide a safe working environment by maintaining good housekeeping practices.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
