Job Details
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for general building and equipment maintenance inclusive of snow removal in the winter and other seasonal landscaping tasks.
- General repair and maintenance of building, forklifts, pallet jacks, company vehicles, and all other equipment or buildings owned by the company
- Maintain company grounds inclusive of snow/ice removal, lawn work throughout the year
- Maintenance and safe operation of company vehicles
- Repair and replacement of facility lighting
- Repair of facility plumbing needs
- Trash removal from the facility
- Maintain the cleanliness of the maintenance shop
- Sweeping of the parking lot
- Maintain the bone yard and inventory if needed
- Assist with roof repairs and clean‑up
- All other essential duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager
- Ability to carry out essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, within safety guidelines
- Ability to operate vehicles efficiently, within safety guidelines
- Ability to efficiently use hand tools and trades type tools, to provide maintenance of facility as required
- Good mechanic background required
- General knowledge of vehicle maintenance including preventative and scheduled maintenance
- Good plumbing skills
- General knowledge of electrical and lighting
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Willingness to work overtime and be called into work for emergency situations as required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in mechanical trade preferred
- Must be able to communicate within the department and understand directions
- Must be able to maintain records and communicate well
- Stand/Walk:

Frequently (1-10 lbs.), Occasionally (up to 35-50 lbs.) - Other
Physical Requirements:- Frequently: bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder (up to 2 ft.), crouch, kneel, push/pull, grasp
- Continuously: working around moving machinery, in areas with marked changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust and fumes, occasionally working at unprotected heights, around and amongst dead birds and a strong chicken odor
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language in order to maintain records and communicate well
Must have a minimum of 6-month work experience. Facility maintenance and/or automotive mechanic experience is preferred and must be documented in the work history section of the application.
Rehire Consideration- Max of two (2) previous Tyson Employments to be considered for hire.
