Position Overview
The Maintenance/Janitor II will assist with administering routine and preventative maintenance and repair for all Tribal Housing properties. This position will be on a rotating on-call schedule, responding to emergency calls for all eight (8) tribal housing properties. This position will also be responsible for grounds keeping and janitorial duties at all locations.
SpecificJob Duties /Responsibilities
- Demonstrates the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values
- Will assist team with providing preventative maintenance for all Tribal Housing properties.
- Assist Maintenance team with renovation of Tribal Housing properties and SHR/EHR projects.
- Perform specialized tasks which may require on the job training such as repairing windows, doors, door locks, and installation of counters, cabinets, flooring, and trims.
- Responsible for cleaning and preparing work sites.
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment as needed.
- Responsible for sweeping and clearing debris from all Tribal Housing complexes and entryways.
- Assist with seasonal outdoor work which include mowing, weed whip, and snow removal for Tribal Housing properties.
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all entryways, stairs, and hallways for Tribal Housing properties as assigned by supervisor.
- Required to be able to provide a written report of completed work orders or daily logs.
- Respond to emergent maintenance request as needed, may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Will work closely with local law enforcement when needed to open Tribal Housing unit upon valid requests.
- Must be willing to follow instruction from supervisor and implement delegated tasks.

- Must have a valid driver’s license and must be able to meet driver eligibility guidelines.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in all phases of the grounds keeping field.

- Must be in good physical health
High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required
Training RequirementsWill attend all trainings as needed or directed by supervisor
Physical Requirements- Heavy office work which includes the ability to lift up to 30-50 lbs.
- Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.
- While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

- Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
