Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Escalation:
Serve as the second‑level support and point of escalation for complex IT issues that cannot be resolved by the IT helpdesk or junior engineers.
Infrastructure Management:
Administer, maintain, and proactively improve the company's IT infrastructure, including servers (Physical/Virtual), Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and networking equipment (Switches, Firewalls, Access Points).
Advanced Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to system performance, network connectivity (WAN/LAN/VPN), server security, and enterprise applications.
IT Project Management:
Lead or participate in IT projects such as system upgrades, hardware refresh cycles, office relocations, and new technology rollouts, ensuring timely delivery and minimal business disruption.
Process Improvement:
Review and enhance existing IT procedures, including the ticketing system workflow, to improve efficiency and user satisfaction. Contribute to the development of IT policies and disaster recovery plans.
Vendor Coordination:
Liaise with external vendors and service providers for the procurement of IT equipment, software licensing, and specialized maintenance contracts.
Mentorship & Guidance:
Provide technical guidance and on‑the‑job training to junior IT staff and apprentices, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive and up‑to‑date documentation of the IT infrastructure, network configurations, system changes, and troubleshooting guides.
Compliance & Security:
Ensure all systems and practices comply with internal security policies and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Proactively identify security risks and recommend solutions.
On‑Site Support:
Willingness to travel to remote sites (e.g., Shah Alam, Malaysia) to provide hands‑on support and manage local infrastructure when required.
Education:
Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Experience:
Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience in an IT support or infrastructure role, with a proven track record of handling complex technical issues.
Technical
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022), including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Proficiency in managing Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams) and cloud technologies.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, Routing, Firewalls, VPNs).
- Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).
Core Competencies:
Excellent problem‑solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, patience, a customer‑centric mindset, and the capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
Certifications (Added Advantage):
Relevant certifications such as ITIL Foundation, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified:
Azure Administrator Associate, or CCNA are highly desirable.
Flexibility:
Willing and able to travel to Shah Alam, Malaysia, and other sites as required.
