We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking SEO Technical Lead to drive the strategic and technical direction of OOm’s SEO campaigns. This role is pivotal in solving complex SEO performance issues, planning scalable strategies, and future proofing our SEO methodologies in alignment with evolving search engine algorithms and industry trends.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical SEO expertise, analytical rigor, and cross‑functional leadership to strengthen our agency’s SEO framework, while also acting as a senior advisor to both internal teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as OOm’s chief SEO problem‑solver
    , taking over campaigns that have plateaued or declined.

  • Lead and conduct advanced technical audits
    , uncovering issues in crawlability, indexation, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, JavaScript rendering, and canonicalisation.

  • Spearhead strategic adoption of emerging SEO trends (e.g., AI in search, Google’s AI Overviews, SGE, zero‑click SERPs).

  • Develop custom SEO frameworks and scalable processes for site migrations, domain consolidations, multi‑location SEO, and international SEO.

Platform and Code‑Level Expertise
  • Comfortable working within Word Press, Shopify, Magento, Webflow, and custom CMS environments.

  • Provide developer‑ready SEO recommendations involving HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript fixes.

  • (Bonus) Leverage Python and automation scripts to improve crawl analysis, data extraction, and reporting efficiency.

SEO Performance Rescue & Forensics
  • Investigate sudden ranking drops, traffic crashes
    , or crawl issues using a forensic approach.

  • Implement structured recovery plans using logs, tool‑based diagnostics (e.g., GSC, Screaming Frog), and historical performance data.

  • Partner with Account Managers to troubleshoot campaign escalations and reassure clients with data‑backed solutions.

Team Mentorship & Upskilling
  • Work closely with the SEO Specialist Team Lead to design and deliver advanced technical SEO training for the team.

  • Mentor SEO specialists in diagnosing technical SEO issues and in adopting structured, hypothesis‑based SEO testing.

  • Establish internal documentation, playbooks, and technical QA protocols for the SEO team.

Cross‑Department & Client Collaboration
  • Translate complex technical findings into clear, client‑facing recommendations
    .

  • Collaborate with content, design, and development teams to ensure SEO best practices are implemented effectively across touchpoints.

  • Support the sales team with technical insights in pitches and client consultations.

Tools & Reporting
  • Expert user of tools such as Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, GA4
    , and log file analysers.

  • Build custom dashboards or reports to visualise performance, diagnose errors, and forecast traffic growth or ROI.

  • Maintain an up‑to‑date command of SEO tooling updates and recommend integrations when necessary.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands‑on SEO experience
    , with a strong focus on technical SEO, preferably within an agency setting.

  • Proven success in resolving underperforming or penalised SEO campaigns.

  • Proficiency in SEO tool stacks:
    Screaming Frog, GSC, GA4, Ahrefs/SEMrush, etc.

  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Java Script , and familiarity with CMS architecture.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate SEO concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders and clients
    .

  • A natural problem‑solver and innovator
    , with strong critical thinking and presentation skills.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with
    Python, Big Query
    , or SEO automation scripts.

  • Background in conversion rate optimisation (CRO), data engineering, or UX.

  • Familiarity with multi‑regional SEO
    , structured data markup, and eCommerce‑specific SEO.
