Full Time CNA
Elwood Care Center & Assisted Living is looking to hire a full‑time CNA for our day shift.
Schedule & Compensation- Hours:
6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., 3 days per week. - Additional work: every 3rd weekend (if needed) and holiday rotation.
- Pay: $20 per hour, increases with years of experience.

Accrued and available immediately after a 90‑day probationary period.
- Resident Care
- Assist with and perform duties as assigned according to procedures.
- Accommodate residents’ needs and respond appropriately to verbal and non‑verbal expressions.
- Ensure spiritual needs are met.
- Safeguard residents’ property and maintain pleasant living areas.
- Maintain residents’ dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Provide opportunities for independence and choice.
- Advocate for residents’ rights and inform families of these rights.
- Document observations and services provided.
- Share information with interdisciplinary team members.
- Cooperate with team and other staff respectfully.
- Assist residents in meeting social needs.
- Respond appropriately to residents’ requests and maintain positive relationships with families.
- Maintain safe work practices and follow facility safety procedures.
- Follow infection control procedures.
- Other Basic Responsibilities
- Attend on time and be ready to perform assigned tasks.
- Meet facility hygiene and appearance standards.
- Prioritize and complete work assignments within agreed time frames.
- Follow conduct standards, policies, and procedures; work alcohol‑ and drug‑free.
- Attend required in‑service training and meetings.
- Participate actively in quality improvement.
- Seek to learn and use appropriate technology.
- Maintain professional certification/licensure: complete the 76‑hour Nursing Assistant course, pass a written test with an 80% score or better.
- Other Requirements
- Genuine interest in geriatric nursing and compassion for the elderly.
- Patience, tact, self‑control, and emotional stability in demanding situations.
- Desire to constantly improve nursing knowledge and skills.
- Willingness to work with the understanding that errors may have serious consequences for residents.
- Age: 16 years or older.
- Reading, writing, and following instructions.
- Prior experience preferred in a geriatric setting; training will be provided.
- Physical and mental abilities appropriate for the job; manual dexterity to operate equipment (e.g., Hoyer lift, electronic scale).
- Completion of the 76‑hour Nursing Assistant course and passing a written test with at least 80%.
- May be assigned to another shift temporarily or called for duty in case of illness, emergency, or disaster.
- Potential injury from improper use of body mechanics or equipment.
- Risk of exposure to blood‑borne pathogens and infections from improper infection control techniques.
