Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with 1-2 years' experience preferred for a mixed inpatient, outpatient, and home health role in a critical access hospital setting.
Responsibilities- Work in a critical access hospital covering inpatient, outpatient, and home health care settings
- Primary patient population is adults over 30 with rare pediatric cases
- Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, day shifts, with flexible hours based on department needs
- Home health assignments are 1-4 visits per week, with the remainder of the week spent on inpatient/outpatient care
- Weekly team meetings via Zoom for case conferencing on home health patients
- Computerized charting is performed using Cerner EHR
- Shift length is generally 8 hours
- Primary responsibilities include delivering occupational therapy to adult patients in their homes and in the hospital's rehab unit
- Pediatric and hospice cases are rare but possible
- Collaborate with a team that includes skilled nurses and physical therapists
- Professional casual dress code is required
- Training provided one-on-one with agency staff until documentation competence is achieved and includes a standard checklist
- Vehicles available for work travel or reimbursement provided for use of personal vehicle
- Active Occupational Therapist license for the state of Nebraska required if applicable
- Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience with Cerner EHR preferred but not required
- Comfort making independent home visits
