Job Summary- Administers speech and language evaluations, tests, or examinations to diagnose and plan treatments for clients, patients, or residents with speech and swallowing disorders.
- Assesses clients on speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing challenges and develops individualized treatment plans based on clinical diagnoses.
- Provides speech and language services, monitors disease progression, and adjusts treatments accordingly.
- Instructs clients in therapeutic exercises and offers consultation to participants working through speech and language treatment processes.
- Ensures all standards, policies, protocols, and quality requirements are met.
- Demonstrates documentation in accordance with departmental guidelines and meets all regulatory requirements.
- Works flexibly with variable schedules and assignments, promotes the department and the organization, and interacts with external providers, case managers, third‑party payers, and public organizations.
- Might supervise assistants, aides, or students, and provide ongoing education or training to peers as directed by department leadership.
- Appropriate educational level required for state licensure.
- Licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist in the state(s) of practice.
- Preferred:
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech‑Language Hearing Association (ASHA) or current completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY). - Valid driver’s license (may be required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or to be obtained within the first 60 days of employment.
