Hours:
Varies - Salary Range: $32.50 - $52.00
- Assess clients/patients/residents and design occupational therapy treatments.
- Help clients/patients/residents to develop, maintain and recover ability to perform tasks in daily occupations.
- Conduct evaluations and provide interventions for functional, cognitive or behavioral impairments.
- Evaluate physical, cognitive, developmental and psychosocial abilities; develop realistic therapy goals and administer programs.
- Document information for evaluation; establish therapeutic plans and modify as needed.
- Provide education to enhance understanding and improve functional outcomes.
- Demonstrate knowledge of age-related treatments and include current research in daily treatment.
- Treat individuals of all ages with varying diagnoses and disorders, with documentation in accordance with guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Follow accepted clinical practice guidelines of professional organizations.
- Be flexible with variable work schedules/assignments; participate in activities to promote the department, Good Samaritan Society and Sanford Health.
- Interact with providers, case managers, family members, third party payers, public organizations, etc.
- May supervise assistants, aides, and students; provide ongoing education and training to peers as determined by leadership.
- Perform other related duties as requested by the manager.
- Work may focus on post-acute, long term care, and home health care environments depending on facility/location.
- Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
- Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Occupational Therapist.
- When working at a Sanford Health Facility (not required but preferred for GSS Facilities):
Must be certified through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). - May require valid driver's license where applicable.
- Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
- In SD and IA, new graduates in the process of testing with the board may be considered with a temporary license.
