Job Summary

The Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources Business Centers are a cohesive team that provide professional service, efficient resource management, and effective solution development with integrity, accountability and focus on the customer. This position is located at the Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center in Ithaca, NE, close to Fremont, Wahoo, Yutan, Ceresco, and Mead, and is just 30 minutes from Omaha and Lincoln.

• Serve in a consultative role and be responsible for providing finance support in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable institutional, UNL, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines.
• Execute and review routine and complex finance transactions.
• Work closely with employees within the departments served, as well as functional office staff, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
• Function under limited supervision and be expected to utilize technology to provide professional services.

• Bachelor's degree plus four (4) years of related finance work experience. Additional years of relevant experience or completed relevant education may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis.
• Experience with SAP or large integrated finance system.
• A willingness and demonstrated ability to learn new hardware and software systems.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with rules and regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines.
• Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.

• Experience performing project or cost accounting.
• Experience conducting training.
• Experience serving multiple units as part of a service team.
• Experience performing finance tasks at a University of Nebraska institution.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to business practices.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others.
