  Coaching

• Oversee and manage the assigned team.
• Use good judgment to determine athlete participation during practices and games, including squad level and playing time.
• Positively promote the athletic program within the schools and the community.
• Assist in the selection and evaluation of assistant coaches.
• Coordinate with the Activities Director in planning and scheduling practices, announcements, competitions, and the like.
• Supervise locker rooms and playing areas during and following periods of team participation.
• Remain with students and supervise them when traveling to away events.
• Oversee and tend to injured athletes.
• Care for and maintain equipment and conduct annual inventories.
• Work closely with custodians in controlling facilities.
• Serve as a role model to all students.
• Serve as a positive member of the community in a way that does not negatively affect the District’s reputation or image.
• Refrain from conduct that interferes with the operations of the District, including the education of students.
• Develop and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with other staff and administration.
• Adhere to all District policies, rules, regulations, and supervisory directives.
• Maintain confidentiality of information concerning staff, students, and parents in accordance with law and District rules.
• Adhere to the code of ethics of the District and the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE Rule 27).

• High school degree or GED required.
• Nebraska Teaching or Administrative and Supervisory Certificate, with a Special Services Certificate in coaching, preferred.
• Mandatory first aid, CPR training required (may be obtained on the job and must be kept current).
• Must possess a motor vehicle operator’s license with a certificate to operate a school van.
• On‑staff certificated employee preferred.
• Coaching experience preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
