Coaching
- Oversee and manage the assigned team.
- Use good judgment to determine athlete participation during practices and games, including squad level and playing time.
- Positively promote the athletic program within the schools and the community.
- Assist in the selection and evaluation of assistant coaches.
- Coordinate with the Activities Director in planning and scheduling practices, announcements, competitions, and the like.
- Supervise locker rooms and playing areas during and following periods of team participation.
- Remain with students and supervise them when traveling to away events.
- Oversee and tend to injured athletes.
- Care for and maintain equipment and conduct annual inventories.
- Work closely with custodians in controlling facilities.
- Serve as a role model to all students.
- Serve as a positive member of the community in a way that does not negatively affect the District’s reputation or image.
- Refrain from conduct that interferes with the operations of the District, including the education of students.
- Develop and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with other staff and administration.
- Adhere to all District policies, rules, regulations, and supervisory directives.
- Maintain confidentiality of information concerning staff, students, and parents in accordance with law and District rules.
- Adhere to the code of ethics of the District and the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE Rule 27).
- High school degree or GED required.
- Nebraska Teaching or Administrative and Supervisory Certificate, with a Special Services Certificate in coaching, preferred.
- Mandatory first aid, CPR training required (may be obtained on the job and must be kept current).
- Must possess a motor vehicle operator’s license with a certificate to operate a school van.
- On‑staff certificated employee preferred.
