Elementary Art Teacher; Part Time

Position: Elementary Art Teacher (Part Time)

Job Overview:
The Elementary Art Teacher is responsible for providing a comprehensive visual arts program for students in K-5. The teacher will develop students' artistic skills, creativity, and appreciation for the visual arts while following the Nebraska State Standards for Visual Arts.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Nebraska State Standards.

* Teach foundational subjects such as literacy, math, science, and social studies.

* Foster social-emotional development and encourage positive behavior.

* Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.

* Use various research based instructional practices to meet the needs of various learners.

* Develop age-appropriate lessons in drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, design, and art history.

* Foster creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking through hands-on artistic experiences.

* Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, and English Learners.

* Assess and document student learning and provide feedback to students and parents.

* Collaborate with teachers to integrate art across the curriculum when appropriate.

* Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and district initiatives as required for part-time certified staff.

Professional Duties:

* Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and assessment data.

* Prepare reports and communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student performance and behavior.

* Participate in school-wide meetings, events, and other administrative activities as required.
