Job SummaryWe are seeking an exceptional individual to join the Undeclared and Academic Advising Center (UAAC) as the Senior Academic Advisor and Degree Completion Coordinator (Student Services Professional III). This role focuses on academic advising and coordinating programs aimed at supporting student success, degree completion initiatives, academic achievement, and retention.
About the PositionReporting to the Director of Academic Advising, Operations and Specialized Programs, responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing academic advising programming for degree completion in the Office of Academic Advising.
- Providing specialized academic advising services, tracking the academic progress of assigned students, and assessing retention and graduation rates.
- Executing and evaluating student success programs for Fullerton Finish and Finish in Four/Through in Two students.
- Collaborating with team members and academic colleges/departments to ensure successful program execution and goal achievement.
- Offering one‑on‑one and group academic advising, serving as a primary point of contact, maintaining accurate records, and engaging in communication and outreach efforts.
- Regular attendance is an essential job function; the inability to meet attendance requirements may preclude the employee from retaining employment.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited four‑year college/university, plus upper‑division or graduate coursework in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution.
- Three years of professional student services experience in the field; or a Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a related field can substitute for one year of experience; a Doctoral degree may substitute for three years.
- Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, supervise, and organize programs and activities.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with a diverse student population and various stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to learn campus procedures and policies.
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
- Experience leading advising programming efforts and coordinating faculty, staff, and administrator collaborations.
- Proficiency with student engagement and academic advising platforms such as EAB Navigate, People Soft, and Degree Audit, and with Office 365 for data management and reporting.
- Strong data analytics skills for planning, data‑driven program development, and assessment.
