Human Communication Studies – Part‑Time Lecturer Pool
The Department of Human Communication Studies at CSU Fullerton invites applications for a pool of part‑time lecturers. The pool is drawn on when periods of high need begin; applicants must be ready to start on very short notice.

- Introduction to Research in Communication Studies
- Quantitative Research Methods
- Other courses listed under HCOM in the university catalogue (catalog)
- A master’s degree in Communication Studies or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Prior teaching experience at the university level.
- Demonstrated ability to engage a culturally diverse student body, including first‑generation college students.
- Coursework or teaching experience in the specific subject areas listed above.
- Significant experience supporting diverse populations and fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
- A record of professional writing and a current publication portfolio.
All applicants must submit the following documents at the time of application:

- Curriculum Vitae.
- Unofficial transcripts demonstrating your highest terminal degree.

Before official hire, applicants will be asked to provide:
- Three letters of recommendation (uploaded by recommenders).

All part‑time faculty are appointed as Lecturers for one semester only. Pay is per unit and ranges from $5,507 to $6,677 per month (depending on qualifications). Compensation is tied to the number of units taught and is paid in six monthly installments.

Appointment CalendarHigh demand occurs in the Fall (late August to mid‑December) and Spring (mid‑January to end of May). Semester‑long part‑time appointments also occur in summer modules when needed.
Performance EvaluationPart‑time lecturers receive regular performance evaluations according to CSU collective bargaining agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. Evaluations influence retention for future assignments.
