Dentist

SUMMARY

This position is located at the Carl T. Curtis Health Education Center Dental Clinic in Macy, NE; a 638 Service Unit Dental Program. The primary purpose of this position is to provide general dental care for health center patients. The secondary purpose is to provide administrative assistance with day to day operations in the dental clinic.

• Provide routine dental services:
  General restorative and preventive procedures, crown and bridge, removable prosthetics, endodontics, oral surgery at the Carl T. Curtis Health Education Center Dental Clinic. Occasionally, Staff Dentists voluntarily provide these services off-site at health center supported events such as tribal school screenings and community health fairs.
• Direct dental assistants in the care of patients.
• Keep Office Manager and Dental Director abreast of current activities, situations, accomplishments, etc., in the Dental Department.
• Assist in development of dental policies and assist the clinic in their implementations.
• Maintain clear channels of communications with all dental staff and supervisors.
• Keep current with new techniques and philosophies related to all aspects of dental field.
• Attend general and dental staff meetings as schedule allows.
• Maintain current CPR, and State Dental License.
• Understand and promote the mission, vision, and values of the Carl T. Curtis Health Education Center both in the work place and in the community.
• Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to position including; HIPAA, Scope of Practice, Accreditation Standards, OSHA, and the Agency's Policies & Procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by the Dental Director.

• Graduate of accredited U.S. Dental School.
• Current State License to practice Dentistry.
• Current CPR / BLS Certification.
• Current DEA License.

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and eligible for tribal insurance.
• Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
