Rate: $ 2,200 – 3,000
Part Time Rate: $30-60/hour
Location: Orchard Central, Orchard Road, Singapore
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Junior Ceramic Instructor to support the ceramics program and contribute to the development of students' technical and artistic skills in ceramics.
The Junior Ceramic Instructor will have the opportunity to work alongside more experienced instructors and gain professional experience in both teaching and studio management, while also developing their own practice as a ceramic artist.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:- Design ceramic classes;
- Plan exhibitions and events including artist workshop;
- Kiln loading and unloading, and firing of ceramic pieces;
- Design and produce AIA ceramic product for retails purposes;
- Sets up, cleans, and demonstrates the use of equipment and instruments;
- Maintains inventories, orders supply in accordance with purchasing procedures;
- Monitors safety and security of work area, equipment, supplies, and materials;
- Maintains cleanliness of work area;
- Any other assigned ad-hoc duties.
- Candidates with at least a diploma or degree in 3D art-related qualifications, especially pottery;
- Possess intermediate knowledge of ceramics (throwing, trimming, and glazing);
- Able to make sake sets and teapot sets;
- Experience with teaching ceramics will be an absolute advantage;
- Passionate about working in the ceramics industry;
- Responsible and well-organized;
- Good communication skills and enjoy interacting with customers;
- A team player;
- Willing to work weekends and public holidays;
- Meticulous, good organizational and documentation skills.
- Engage in personal artistic practice, producing new work and maintaining an active portfolio, and sharing knowledge of evolving techniques with students.
- Track and report on material inventory, assisting in the procurement and restocking of clay, glaze, and other necessary materials at least once per semester.
- Ensure all student projects are stored properly for future reference or exhibitions.
