Senior Quantity Surveyor | Govt Projects | Up to 7K| Mon-Fri | North-East

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support tendering and post-contract functions for government and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in cost estimation, tender analysis, subcontract management, and variation claims within the local construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and review tender documents for completeness and compliance (specifications, drawings, commercial & technical requirements)
  • Perform detailed cost estimation, material take-offs, and man-hour calculations
  • Obtain quotations from local and overseas vendors for materials, equipment, and subcontract works
  • Compile and compare quotations, review pricing, and recommend competitive bids
  • Estimate indirect costs including staff, site establishment, and miscellaneous expenses
  • Prepare unit rates, equipment rates, and tender summaries for management review
  • Attend site visits and clarification meetings with clients
  • Support tender negotiations with necessary cost information
  • Assist in preparation of project variations, progress claims, and subcontract documentation
  • Coordinate with internal departments on commercial matters (e.g. insurance, contractual requirements)
  • Prepare post-contract documentation transfer
Requirements
  • Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction, or Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the local construction industry
  • Experience handling government project tenders is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and cost evaluation skills
  • Able to work independently and meet tight tender deadlines
