Key Responsibilities
- Establish and implement the sales strategy & portfolio according to the business unit’s goals
- Managing a Sales Team of Area API Sales Managers and ensure strong collaboration with functional team members from Technical Services, Business Development and Business Support
- Support the business unit in the implementation of its strategic goals
- Break down global API strategies to local action plans and ensure promotion and collaboration
- Own full responsibility for API budget for the region
- Ensure the right commercial talent is in place across the countries to drive business growth, this includes providing training, coaching and guidance
- Act Consistently according to IMCD values
- Define and execute local strategy through detailed action plans
- Monitor, manage and forecast API budget for current and upcoming financial years
- Lead the allocated sales team for establishing and achieving sales in the defined territories
- Conduct regular visits to key accounts in the region and maintain strong and active customer contacts and relationships
- Ensure accurate API pipeline management in Salesforce and follow up on opportunities
- Push and follow-up Qualified Leads from IPM’s and strategic sourcing teams
- Gather market information and trends, and perform analysis of markets and competitor activities in the region
- Implement and execute the sales strategy within the assigned sales area
- Support and manage international customers and sales partners
- Relationship management with local Managing Directors, local Business Unit Managers and Regional Heads of Pharmaceuticals
- Coordinate incoming requests and be responsible of decision making
- Identify synergies, centralisation of market intelligence and enhance communication channel across countries
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Attend relevant API and pharmaceutical exhibitions (eg. CPhI events) to build networks and track market developments
- Strong knowledge of the Pharmaceutical and API market
- Excellent planning & organisational skills
- Strong management skills
- Ability to work autonomously while being an excellent team player
- Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Fluent in English, additional languages according to the allocated region are advantageous
- Preferably more than 5 years of experience in an API sales position
