Membership Sales Directors are responsible for managing day-to-day tasks, welcoming guests and members to the gym, selling memberships and training services, and leading staff to work as a cohesive unit. This role requires a considerable amount of self-motivation, leadership skills, the ability to collaborate and communicate, and the ability to influence others in a positive way.

Base pay range

$35,000.00/yr - $50,000.00/yr

This position is full-time. Competitive base salary ranging from $35,000 - $50,000 based on experience, with the opportunity to earn monthly sales commissions. This position reports to the District Manager.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Membership Sales — Qualification, information, inspiration, and conversion of leads to members using a proven system that helps guests start a fitness program.
  • Personal Training Sales and Services — Lead pre-designed workouts in a group setting, energize and motivate clients, modify exercises for various skill levels, and ensure participant safety.
  • Club Promotional Marketing — Build relationships with local businesses and influencers for B2B marketing; coordinate engagement campaigns and community outreach using assets from corporate teams; utilize social media.
  • Community Involvement — Participate in local events and Chamber of Commerce activities; represent the gym in the community.
  • Networking / Employee Wellness — Develop partnerships with employers and insurers to promote healthier lifestyles and find solutions that benefit all parties.
  • Team Building — Lead and develop a core team of trainers and staff; foster a positive, trusting environment.
  • Member Experience — Deliver top-notch customer service; create an environment that inspires members and guests to share their experiences.
  • Operations — Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked gym; ensure staff follow safety procedures and equipment is functional.
Hours and Requirements

Staffed hours are subject to change based on season and scheduled events. Must be willing to work Saturdays during peak season months (October – March).

Minimum

Job Requirements
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma minimum
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in an exercise-related field is highly preferred
  • Sales experience preferred or willingness to learn how to sell
  • Management experience is a PLUS
  • Friendly, outgoing, warm, coachable; able to adapt to changes and work in a fast-paced setting
  • Flexible hours; availability for Saturdays during peak season
  • Self-motivated, able to motivate others, capable of working independently
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills; team player
  • Positive attitude and the ability to inspire action
  • Must be able to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs
