Waste Supervisor

Simple Recruitment are delighted to be working with a valued client, based in Barnstaple, who are looking for an experienced supervisor to join their team on a temporary basis.

Monday to Friday – 8.00am to 4.00pm

Due to bank holidays, individuals will be required to work Saturdays on a rota basis.

We are looking for a confident, practical and highly organised operational leader who thrives in a fast-paced frontline environment.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain further supervisory experience, enhance your leadership capabilities, and utilise your practical skills in delivering high-quality frontline services.

• Supervising and supporting frontline staff to make sure they work safely and efficiently
• Issuing vehicles and making sure all legal paperwork (like defect reports and log books) is completed correctly
• Giving daily work information to crews and keeping it up to date
• Monitoring and using the Bartec in-cab system to manage work and fix any issues
• Solving day-to-day operational problems and responding to staff concerns
• Making sure there are enough staff and vehicles available each day
• Working closely with vehicle maintenance teams to keep vehicles service-ready
• Ensuring all Health & Safety rules, risk assessments, and policies are followed
• Managing staff matters such as recruitment, inductions, appraisals, absence reviews, and training
• Keeping accurate records for staff, accidents, incidents, and risk assessments
• Handling customer communication and resolving complaints
• Helping deliver the service within budget
