Summary

A part-time (20hrs) Floating Support Worker joining our Floating Support Service, Monmouthshire. You will be required to work in people’s homes and in the local community between Monday-Friday managing your own caseload and diary.

About the Role

Monmouthshire Floating Support provides housing‑related support to help individuals live autonomously, improve their financial capability and retain independence. You will work directly with individuals to build confidence, improve financial capability and support them to live independently with dignity and stability. Using a person‑centred, systems‑thinking approach, you will focus on what matters most to each person, providing practical, tailored support to help them secure and sustain a safe home.

You will support people with a range of experiences and needs, including substance misuse and offending backgrounds. The role can be challenging, but you will see the real impact of your work as people move from crisis towards independence.

You will join an experienced, supportive team and manager who will help you develop your skills and build strong partnerships with external agencies.

Day To Day Duties
  • Manage your own caseload and schedule effectively
  • Visit people in their homes across Monmouthshire
  • Build trusted relationships and agree clear, achievable goals
  • Create support plans and complete risk assessments
  • Provide advice on budgeting, benefits, health, housing and tenancy management
  • Help address rent arrears and access essential grants
  • Work closely with Housing Options and partner agencies
  • Signpost to specialist services and attend key appointments where required

Pay and Pensions
  • £24,531.00 FTE (£12.75 per hour)
