Finance Officer
Salary: £27,532 - £29,861
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term – 31/07/26
We are looking for a motivated and confident Finance Officer to join Coleg Gwent on a temporary contract. This is an opportunity to assist the finance team with all central finance functions, including debt management, preparing financial data and maintaining finance records. You will ensure that learners are charged the appropriate amounts for their courses, trips, materials or other things they may need.
You will support the wider College with maintaining finance records so that they have a clear picture of the financial situation at the College.
The ability to use the Welsh language at a basic level (or willingness to undertake training) is desirable. Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will not be treated less favourably than applications submitted in English.
The College is committed to safeguarding, ensuring the safety and welfare of children and young people. Employment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) if appropriate. Successful candidates will be expected to pay for the Enhanced Disclosure and registration with the Education Workforce Council. Lecturing posts will require a teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE) or the willingness to attain one with a specified period of time, a requirement under the contract of employment and EWC registration.
