Database Administrator

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced  MySQL Database Administrator (DBA)  to manage, maintain, and optimize MySQL database systems. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in  MySQL replication, backup & recovery, performance tuning, and scripting , ensuring high availability, security, and reliability of databases.

Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain  MySQL databases  in production and non-production environments
Manage and monitor  MySQL replication  (Master–Slave / Master–Master) and troubleshoot replication issues
Design and implement  backup and recovery strategies  (logical and physical backups)
Perform  database performance tuning , query optimization, and indexing
Monitor database health, capacity planning, and proactively address potential issues
Ensure database  high availability, data integrity, and security
Automate routine DBA tasks using  shell scripting / Python / Perl
Handle database patching, version upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime
Support development and application teams with database-related issues
Maintain documentation for database architecture, procedures, and operational guidelines
Provide on-call/production support as and when required

Required Skills & Experience
3–6 years of hands-on experience as a  MySQL DBA
Strong expertise in  MySQL replication, backup, and recovery

Experience with  database performance tuning and optimization
Proficiency in  Linux/Unix environments
Good scripting skills in  Shell, Python, or Perl

Experience with tools such as  Percona, MySQL Enterprise Backup, or similar
Knowledge of database security best practices
Ability to troubleshoot complex database and replication issues

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

Experience with  high availability solutions  (MySQL Cluster, Galera, Proxy

SQL, HAProxy)
Exposure to  cloud-based databases  (AWS RDS / Aurora / GCP Cloud SQL)
Familiarity with  monitoring tools  (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana)
Knowledge of other databases like  Postgre

SQL or MongoDB

Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in  Computer Science, IT, or a related field  (or equivalent experience)
