Primary Responsibilities
- Support HSE management through compliance reviews, risk assessments, and safety evaluations.
- Maintain HSE logs, reports, and required documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Assist with compliance to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
- Participate in incident investigations and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide HSE guidance and recommendations to facility leadership and employees.
- Assist in developing, delivering, and tracking HSE training programs.
- Promote safe work practices, identify hazards, and ensure immediate corrective action.
- Support implementation and maintenance of HSE policies, programs, and procedures.
- Coordinate waste handling, storage, documentation, and disposal with approved vendors.
- Maintain working relationships with regulatory agencies and internal department leaders.
- Stay current on HSE legislation, standards, and industry best practices.
- Comply with all NOV company, quality, and HSE policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned and work night shifts as required.
- Work primarily on the manufacturing floor (approximately 80%) with limited night supervision.
- Exposure to forklifts, drill pipe movement, and heavy manufacturing equipment.
- Work around forging machines, welders, heat treat furnaces, presses, pits, and elevated surfaces.
- Exposure to loud noise and varying temperatures based on facility and weather conditions.
- Perform office-based work approximately 20% of the time.
- Travel to multiple facilities as needed to support HSE oversight.
- Bachelor’s degree or certified training in Health, Safety, or Environmental field preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of HSE experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations, and industry standards (NFPA, ASME, ANSI).
- Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and reporting skills.
- Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 preferred.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED training or instructor certification preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Mechanical aptitude and prior shop or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Spanish bilingual skills preferred but not required.
