- Assist the patient with personal care activities, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and dressing.
- Help the patient with exercises, ambulation, transfer activities, and the administration of medications that are ordinarily self‑administered.
- Take and record patient temperature.
- Observe and report patient status.
- Record care provided.
- Perform certain activities under special circumstances after training and observation by a Registered Nurse.
- Strong caregiving skills and a compassionate nature.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Requirements- Certificate from a state‑sponsored homemaker/home‑health aide training and competence evaluation program.
- Certificate from a nurse’s aide training and competency evaluation program as defined in Section 19‑13‑D8T (A) of the Connecticut Public Health Department of Regulations.
