Summary
Dedicated and nurturing early childhood educator with a strong passion for fostering the growth and development of young learners. Experienced in creating safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environments that support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Skilled in implementing developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum and building strong, collaborative relationships with families. Duties- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
- Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
- Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
- Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Studies, or a related field (preferred)
- Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a commitment to ongoing education toward a Bachelor’s Degree (required minimum)
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a licensed child care or preschool setting
- Skills and
Competencies:- Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer literacy
- High energy and a positive attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, children, and families to foster a team-oriented environment
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Clearances and Screenings:
- Must pass a comprehensive background check
- Must successfully complete a health screening as required by state licensing
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to take frequent walks, interact at children's eye level, and physically engage in classroom and outdoor activities
- First Aid and CPR
