Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. has an opening for a Full‑Time Temporary Services Foreman in National City, CA.

Job Summary

The Temporary Services Foreman plans, installs, operates, maintains, and removes temporary shipboard and shore‑side services required during a vessel’s repair period of performance (POP). Services include temporary lighting, ventilation, 110V and 440V power distribution, power mules, transformers, and associated cabling and equipment. The foreman leads an established Temporary Services Crew and works directly with Project and Program Managers to support production schedules while ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with U.S. Navy, shipyard, and contractual requirements.

Duties

and Responsibilities Temporary Services Planning & Execution
  • Coordinate directly with Project Managers and Program Managers to identify temporary service requirements for assigned vessels.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute the installation and removal of temporary services in support of ship repair and modernization activities.
  • Ensure availability and readiness of temporary services throughout the vessel’s repair period of performance.
  • Ensure all shipboard services conform to NAVSEA Standard Item Requirements.
  • Ensure systems remain operational, properly tagged, and configured for shipboard environments.
Supervision & Leadership
  • Supervise and direct an established Temporary Services Crew.
  • Assign daily tasks and priorities based on production needs and schedules.
  • Ensure efficient use of manpower, tools, and equipment.
  • Provide on‑the‑job guidance, mentoring, and oversight to crew members.
  • Inventory and keep record of equipment as it is assigned to vessel or work site.
  • Provide weekly updates temp service diagrams per ship IAW NAVSEA Standard Items.
  • Work with rental companies for equipment rental quotes as well as pick up and return of rented equipment.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce all shipyard safety rules, OSHA regulations, and U.S. Navy safety requirements.
  • Ensure all temporary services installations meet electrical, ventilation, and fire safety standards.
  • Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs), toolbox talks, and safety briefings as required.
  • Immediately address unsafe conditions and coordinate corrective actions.
Coordination & Communication
  • Coordinate work activities with other trades, rigging, production foremen, and shipyard stakeholders.
  • Communicate the impacts to schedules, access, or services to Project Managers and Production leadership.
  • Support inspections, audits, and customer walkthroughs related to temporary services.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance.
  • Track labor hours, work progress, and material usage.
  • Provide status updates and reports to the General Foreman and Director of Production.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience and at least 3 years in a Foreman/supervisory role.
  • Ability to read and execute drawings, plans, and specs for repairs.
  • Proficiency in understanding and execution of Navsea Standard Items (009‑57 is imperative).
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Mechanical experience required in various disciplines including but not limited to: shafting, bearing inspections, bearing removal/installation, alignments, taking measurements using calibrated equipment (ie inside/outside mics, dial indicators, depth gages) and rigging.
  • Must be able to use screwdrivers, wrenches, pipe cutters, and other basic hand tools when installing systems.
  • Leadership and facilitator skills in working as a team leader.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Effective problem solving, oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills needed to interface, coordinate with company personnel, customers, and outside contacts.
  • Able to obtain and maintain access to military and government installations and private shipyards.
Pay Range

The pay range for this is $84,000 to $102,000 annually. Individual salaries…
