General PurposeAs a Retail Associate, you will ensure customers have a positive shopping experience, greet them warmly, maintain a clean and organized store, and follow company best practices across all areas of the store.
Essential Functions- Practice safe behaviors and maintain awareness on the sales floor.
- Keep the work area clutter‑free and secure, report unsafe conditions.
- Treat customers and associates with respect and courtesy.
- Assist customers at the register and throughout the store.
- Respond promptly to customer service calls.
- Represent and support the Ross brand.
- Perform cleaning tasks to maintain merchandise and customer areas.
- Adhere to the company dress code.
- Complete daily sizing and recovery tasks.
- Expedite merchandise receipts to the sales floor.
- Apply loss‑prevention practices and protect company assets.
- Handle cash and charge‑card transactions accurately.

- Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, and pleasant manner.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Use store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Stand, walk, and move around the store for 100 % of the working time.
- Bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
- Push, pull, and lift more than 25 lb occasionally.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
- Stockroom shifts may require lifting more than 20 lb.
- Other assignments may require additional qualifications.
