- The Collector is responsible for follow-up on insurance balances or self-pay accounts to ensure timely payment from insurance companies or uninsured patients, or conversion to another financial payer.
- Communicates clearly and efficiently by phone and in person with clients and staff.
- Maintains productivity standards and generates reports as required.
- Obtains updated demographic and information needed to comply with insurance billing requirements.
- Forwards updated information to responsible staff members for computer changes.
- Operates computer to input follow-up notes and retrieve collection and patient information.
- Writes effective appeals to insurance companies.
- Education, Experience, Training
- Experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet required timelines
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Customer service experience required
- High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required
Paradise Valley Hospital offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. Our Total Rewards includes paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and other voluntary benefits. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $21.00 to $22.56, with the exact starting compensation determined at hire based on factors such as skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
