Trellis Paradise Valley Health Care Center

Physical Therapy Assistant (Healthcare)
  • Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board standards.
  • Assist in maintaining the department.
  • Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences, as needed.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.
  • Treat patients according to the physician’s treatment plan.
  • Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides.
  • Communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.
  • Participate in in-service training programs for staff.
  • Record treatment changes following policies and procedures.
  • Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training for discharge preparation.
  • Report any equipment issues to ensure proper maintenance.
  • Maintain positive, effective, and appropriate relations with patients/residents, families, staff, and colleagues.
  • Supervisory Requirements

    This position is non-supervisory.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience
    • Licensed as a Staff Physical Therapy Assistant in the state.
    • Proficient in computer skills, including inputting data into programs such as Casamba and Point Click Care.
    Language Skills
    • Ability to read technical procedures and policy manuals.
    • Effective communication skills to present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and families.
    Mathematical Skills
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
    Reasoning Ability
    • Problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or scheduled instructions.
    Licenses and Certifications
    • Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state.
    • Maintain continuing education requirements as per state regulations.
    • Keep license in good standing with the state board.
    Physical Demands

    Must frequently stand and/or walk, reach, push/pull, talk, hear, taste, and smell. Occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Capable of exerting significant force when needed. Vision should include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception with adjustable focus.

    Work Environment

    The environment is typically low to moderate noise. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for individuals with disabilities.
