Job Description: As an HR Assistant, or Junior Human Resources Associate, you are responsible for providing administrative support to other HR professionals by documenting staff changes, performance reports and communications. Duties include scheduling onboarding tasks, processing payroll updates and managing communications for the HR department.
Duties and responsibilities- Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining employee database and sorting emails for the HR department.
- Maintain proper records of employee attendance and leaves.
- Assist HR Manager in policy formulation, hiring and salary administration.
- Submit online job postings, shortlist candidates and schedule job interviews.
- Coordinate orientation and training sessions for new employees.
- Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries.
- Assist with HR and payroll process, including time keeping and timecards.
- Maintain payroll and benefit databases, including employment, employee demographics, leaves, and workers compensation claims updates.
- Assist with daily clock ins/outs for employees.
- Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks, including database entries, reports, compiling and distributing materials, and filing.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.

- Must be 18 years old.
- Must be able to work in the US.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-year administrative experience
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office.
- Experience in accounting, billing or payroll is helpful.
- A plus: previous experience in a ship repair environment.
- MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) computer skills.
- Understand the Naval Ship Repair requirements and working environment.
This job operates in an office work environment.
