As an HR Assistant or Junior Human Resources Associate, you will provide administrative support to HR professionals by documenting staff changes, performance reports, and communications. Your duties include scheduling onboarding tasks, processing payroll updates, and managing communications for the HR department.
Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain proper records of employee attendance and leaves.
- Assist HR Manager in policy formulation, hiring, and salary administration.
- Submit online job postings, shortlist candidates, and schedule job interviews.
- Coordinate orientation and training sessions for new employees.
- Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries.
- Assist with HR and payroll processes (timekeeping, timecards).
- Maintain payroll and benefit databases, including employment, employee demographics, leaves, and workers’ comp claims updates.
- Assist with daily clock‑ins/outs for employees.
- Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks, including database entries, reports, compiling and distributing materials, filing, etc.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
- Must be 18 years old.
- Must be able to work in the US.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1‑year administrative experience.
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office.
- Experience in accounting, billing, or payroll is helpful.
- Previous experience in a ship repair environment.
- MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) computer skills.
- Understanding of Naval Ship Repair requirements and working environment.
This job operates in an office work environment.
TravelThis position does not require ability to travel.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands for this position are light to moderate. This position requires sitting for extensive periods of time.
Work Authorization / Security Clearance (if applicable)- Completion of a satisfactory background check.
- Passing a drug test and physical examination.
- Eligibility to work in the US.
