We are currently seeking a highly motivated, creative, and diligent co‑op or intern to support our R&D programs. The ideal candidate will learn to assist with the preparation and characterization of our LNPs for preclinical studies.

This lipid nanoparticle formulation internship provides hands‑on experience working with nucleic acid delivery systems supporting genetic medicine research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn to operate the company’s equipment and setups for preparing LNPs encapsulating various nucleic acid payloads, including DNA, mRNA, siRNA, and oligonucleotides.
  • Use the company’s proprietary process to attach targeting ligands to the surface of LNPs.
  • Learn and conduct characterization of LNPs, assessing particle size, zeta potential, cargo loading, encapsulation efficiency, and more.
  • Perform cell assays to evaluate the in vitro performance of the company’s LNPs in different cell types.
  • Collaborate with Cytodigm’s scientists to scale up proprietary LNP formulations for in vitro and in vivo studies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments.
  • Collect data, including information from CROs, and generate study reports.
  • Present and communicate scientific results to the internal team.
Qualifications
  • Candidates must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, biology, or a related field.
  • 1‑3 years of industrial or academic experience in an R&D setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge and hands‑on laboratory experience with lipid-based nanoparticles, such as liposomes and LNPs, is advantageous.
  • Ability to independently design, implement, troubleshoot, and analyze experiments to achieve desired results is preferred.
  • A solid understanding of nucleic acid biology is required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, are essential.
