As a Senior Network Engineer within our Network team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, supporting, and enhancing Math Works’ global data network and network security infrastructure. You will support and drive key projects that enable the secure and scalable growth of our technology environment, ensuring robust connectivity and protection for our worldwide operations.

ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will be curious, eager to learn, and be able to handle various tasks in a fast-paced global team environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Architecting, administering, and troubleshooting our large enterprise network infrastructure
- Enhancing and maintaining network automation using tools such as Python and Ansible
- Maintaining and improving corporate and public cloud network security
- Leading and participating in global networking and security projects
- Collaborating with business owners to develop technical networking solutions to address business challenges
- Perform security risk assessments on firewall requests and other network changes
- Monitoring network performance, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to security incidents
- Ensuring compliance with security policies, standards, and best practices
- Mentoring and providing guidance to junior staff
- Researching and recommending emerging network and security technologies
- Creating and maintaining detailed network and security documentation.
- Engaging with vendors for support, solutions, and product evaluations.
- A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
- Experience in a medium to large enterprise environment
- Switching and dynamic routing experience (BGP & OSPF)
- Strong security/firewall experience
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Juniper network equipment
- Dev Ops skills using tools like Ansible, Python, Shell and Power Shell
- Enterprise monitoring experience
- Public cloud network management
- Wireless networking skills
- Experience driving projects from inception to completion
- Professional certifications in networking and security
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows
- Experience working in a team environment with other systems administrators/engineers and in a multi-national team, building relationships with our software and development organizations
