ACCEPT is a regional non‑profit educational organization with locations in Medway and Natick, MA. We offer a continuum of programs and services from Pre‑K through age 22, addressing autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral needs, global impairments, cognitive/intellectual disabilities, language disorders, ADHD/ADD, and non‑verbal learning disability. Our services include special education for students with moderate to severe needs, specialized transportation, home‑based services, behavioral and educational consultation, and professional development.
PositionSummary
Full‑time Teacher in the Transition Program. Provides educational and behavioral consultation services to help programs build capacity to serve students with low incidence disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Teach, conduct educational assessments, write reports, and present findings at team meetings.
- Assess students’ abilities and craft teaching plans.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each assigned student.
- Prepare quarterly progress reports and coordinate with related service providers.
- Provide information and support to parents and district liaisons.
- Plan instruction aligned with state frameworks and IEPs; create differentiated learning environments.
- Maintain visual supports, routine schedules, and track student progress.
- Monitor behavioral patterns, arrange interventions, manage classroom crisis, and resolve conflict.
- Prepare students for transitions to the next grade and mentor teaching assistants.
- Respond to email requests within 24 hours.
- Occasional travel between all collaborative locations.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or Executive Director.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited university.
- Valid Massachusetts License / DESE.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Special Education Teacher.
- Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities.
- Proven ability to create IEPs.

- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Master’s Degree in Education or a related field.
- Strong desire to work with children with special needs.

Regular movement throughout the school building, prolonged stationary periods, occasional reaching with hands, kneeling or crouching, lifting up to 20 lbs, use of computer and office machinery, ability to see and hear continuously, and occasional rapid movement on uneven surfaces. Work environment is a normal school setting with acceptable noise levels. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
