Profile of a Natick EducatorJOB GOAL:
The School Psychologist is a member of the student services team who provides assessment, consultation, intervention, and counseling services for students in his/her/their caseload.
Education: Masters’ Degree
Professional Certification: DESE License as a School Psychologist
Specialized Knowledge- Child/adolescent development
- Social‑emotional learning
- Demonstration of competency in the theory, administration, and interpretation of recognized standardized instruments.
- Best practices in individual and small group prevention and counseling practices
- IEP regulations
- Understanding of and commitment to the principles and practices of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice as they relate to student engagement and success
- Experience working with children in the relevant age group
- Experience working in a diverse public school setting preferred
- Experience with testing, report writing, and sharing information with families
- Experience with individual and small group service delivery
- Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed
- Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish and Portuguese, are highly desirable
- Excellent written communication skills
- Outstanding oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- An unrelenting focus on student success, safety and accountability
- Ability to efficiently write comprehensive and informative reports that contain appropriate educational goals.
- Candidates should have a passion for working with students, families, and colleagues.
- Candidates must be flexible and collaborative.
- Candidates must be able to multitask in a fast‑paced, supportive environment that nurtures student growth.
- Candidates must be organized and able to meet ongoing, time‑sensitive deadlines for work production.
