Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree required with experience working in public relations or related area
- Working knowledge of and experience working in an educational environment
- Demonstrated experience and active involvement in University activities, especially at the undergraduate level
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability in working with high school and college age students
- All recruiters report directly to the Director of University Recruiting.
- Student recruitment, including large and small group presentations for college day and night programs, and other established high school visits.
- Establish and maintain contact with prospective applicants, parents, high school counselors and administrators.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports evaluating individual accountability in student recruitment.
- Represent the University in a positive manner at all times.
- Perform all job functions to an optimal degree to create a caring, student-oriented campus.
- Work-related travel, including extensive overnight and some out-of-state training and conferences.
- Schedule and administer campus tours throughout a working week, weekends and holidays to accommodate students and parents.
- Participate in all official NSU events, including those executed by the office such as N-side View Day, Receptions, Counselor Lunches, Cheer Camps, Auditions, and others deemed by the Director of Recruiting.
- Visit high school counselors, give Northwestern presentations, and attend career/college night programs at high schools located in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi.
- Write, call, visit and follow up on all prospective students.
- General involvement in other admissions and recruiting duties as assigned by the Director.
