Overview
Primary purpose: perform simple routine work maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, utilities. Uses trade practices: masonry, carpentry, plumbing, roofing, painting. Related documentation, reporting, monitoring as part of multi‑disciplinary preservation program in conservation of historic and prehistoric ruins and structures.
ResponsibilitiesAssists journey level trade workers by performing simpler routine historic preservation work: maintenance, repair, stabilization, documentation of cultural resources throughout the park.
Conditions of Employment- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
- Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program participation required.
- Valid driver’s license required for motor vehicle use; must submit Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Driving Record; submit certified driving records from all States.
- Wear uniform and comply with NPS uniform standards; uniform allowance provided.
- Work on‑call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work may be required.
- RV Site may be available.
- Government Charge Card: required training and maintenance of card with travel and purchase authority.
To qualify, must have sufficient knowledge and ability in job‑related factors. Core factor:
