Position Overview

Gray Line Tennessee is seeking highly skilled Premier Charter Drivers to join our ELITE transportation team. Our premier division serves Professional Sports, Collegiate Athletics, DMC’s, VIP groups, and other high-profile clients who expect superior service and absolute safety. Elite Drivers represent the highest standard of professionalism, discretion, and operational excellence while delivering an exceptional passenger experience.

Core Responsibilities Safety & Compliance Excellence
  • Operate motorcoaches in full compliance with FMCSA regulations, company policies, and all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and reliability.
  • Maintain exemplary safety records and demonstrate defensive, proactive driving techniques. Safety scores must remain 90 or above each quarter to remain an Elite Driver.
  • Immediately report any safety concerns, incidents, or maintenance needs according to company protocol.
  • Adhere to Hours-of-Service requirements and all DOT documentation standards.
  • NO Preventable accidents with damage totaling more than $1K
Premium-Level Driving Expertise
  • Provide smooth, professional transportation for VIP clients in a variety of environments, including sports arenas, collegiate campuses, event venues, airports, and hotels.
  • Demonstrate advanced maneuvering skills with large motorcoaches in tight or high-traffic settings.
  • Maintain route awareness, scheduling accuracy, and adaptability to last-minute changes.
  • Ensure vehicles remain clean, fueled, and presentation-ready always.
  • Safely operate full-size motorcoaches, mini-coaches, and luxury vehicles used within the Premier Division.
World-Class Customer Service & Professionalism
  • Deliver a courteous, polished, and discreet experience to high-profile passengers.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, tour managers, dispatch, and operations staff.
  • Anticipate passenger needs and respond promptly to special requests.
  • Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Welcoming and assisting guests as they load and unload at the base of the stairs
  • Capable of effectively carrying out Team Lead duties in support of peers during large operational assignments.
  • Uniform & Grooming Requirements:
    This is a client-facing role. Employees must wear the proper company uniform at all times, including approved pants, a fully tucked-in shirt, a tie, and appropriate footwear. Hair must be maintained in a professional manner and limited to natural hair colors only. Body piercings are not permitted, except for earrings. Ear gauging is not permitted.
  • Smoking & Scent Policy:
    This is a client-facing role. Employees may not smoke or use tobacco products before or during their shift, including while transporting clients. Employees are expected to report to work scent‑free and must not smell of smoke or tobacco at any time while on duty.
Qualifications Required
  • Valid Class A or B CDL with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements
  • Minimum of 3 years’ commercial passenger driving experience
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record and ability to meet DOT physical requirements
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug/alcohol screening, and company road test
  • Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations
  • Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Professional communication skills and customer-first mindset
Preferred
  • Previous experience transporting VIP, Pro/Collegiate, or corporate clients
  • Charter or motorcoach tour experience
  • Familiarity with regional hotels, venues, campuses and airports
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of motorcoach systems
  • Experience using electronic logs and dispatch platforms
