About Our ClientAddison Group is partnering with one of our clients to hire an experienced Dispatcher. Our client operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is specifically seeking a confident, decisive dispatcher who can run the board, direct drivers, and take ownership during high-pressure situations.
Job DescriptionThis Dispatcher role is focused on true dispatch leadership rather than call taking. The ideal candidate is someone with command presence who can manage volume, make real-time decisions, and maintain control during peak activity. This role requires comfort managing chaos, prioritizing calls, and keeping drivers moving efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Independently manage the dispatch board in a high-volume environment.
- Assign and direct drivers based on priority, location, and availability.
- Make confident, real-time decisions during high-pressure situations.
- Maintain clear, assertive communication with drivers while remaining professional.
- Monitor active calls and continuously adjust assignments as conditions change.
- Serve as the central coordination point between drivers, internal teams, and external partners.
- Maintain operational control without unnecessary escalation.
- Prior experience as a dispatcher in towing, transportation, logistics, or a similar high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated ability to run a dispatch board rather than solely take inbound calls.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to be assertive with tact.
- Proven ability to stay calm, decisive, and organized under pressure.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and making judgment calls independently.
- Full-time, on-site position.
