We are seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to develop new services, operate existing ones, and enhance our engineering processes.

As part of the OCI Platform Service team, you will collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and develop new features, oversee their operation, troubleshoot issues, and support our customers. You will also provide technical and project leadership to other engineers.

Requirements include 7+ years of experience in software engineering or related fields, with experience in building and operating cloud services, proficiency in an Object-Oriented Language, strong ownership, communication skills, and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and own features for our cloud services.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Address complex issues in distributed systems and high-availability services.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver reliable products.

Location: This position requires onsite work in Nashville, TN, with relocation assistance provided. It is not a remote role.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related experience.
• 7+ years of experience with large-scale software systems.
• Proficiency in Java and familiarity with Python, C++, C#, or Golang.
• Experience with scalable, cloud-native distributed systems.
• Knowledge of service-oriented architectures and web services.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Understanding of REST and JSON.
• Experience with production operations and troubleshooting.
